Teagmháil le Múinteoirí | Contact with Teachers
Más ceist ábhar í is fiú dul i dteagmháil leis an múinteoir ábhair ar dtús. Más ceist ghinearálta faoi do mhac/iníon is fiú labhairt leis an Múinteoir Ranga ar dtús. Ba cheart coinne a dhéanamh tríd an oifig chun bualadh le duine den bhfoireann.
For queries relating to a particular subject it is the school practice that a parent would contact the subject teacher first. If the matter is of a more general nature contact with the class teacher is advised. All meetings with staff members is by appointment only. Appointments may be made during office hours.
Teacht agus Imeacht | Coming and Going
Sa chás go gcaithfidh dalta an scoil a fhágaint luath caithfidh tuismitheoir nó caomhnóir an dalta sin a shíniú amach sa PhríomhOifig. Chun cuidiú leis seo is fiú nóta a thabhairt don dalta sa tslí gur féidir leo a bheith ag an oifig in am chun bualadh leis an nduine fásta.
Agus dalta as láthair ‘sé nós na scoile ná go gcuirfeadh an tuismitheoir glaoch ar an scoil go luath i rith na maidine agus go mbeadh nóta scríofa sa dialann ar fhilleadh dó/di.
Má thagann dalta isteach déanach caithfidh siad síniú isteach san oifig agus stampa a fháil sa dialann.
Ní cheadaítear do dhaltaí sóisearacha an scoil a fhágáil le linn na sosanna. Ligtear do na daltaí sinsearacha dul go dtí na siopaí áitiúla amháin ar rogha údarás na scoile. Ligtear don scoil an cead seo a bhaint chomh maith ar aon lá faoi leith.
If a student needs to leave school early s/he must be collected and signed out by a parent/guardian from the main office. To assist this it is advisable that the student has a note to show the teacher prior to leaving the class.
When a student is absent the school must be phoned on the first morning. On return to school the student must have a note explaining the absence.
If a student arrives late to school, he/she must sign in at the Office and get a stamp in the Journal.
Only senior students may leave the school at main-lunch but this permission can be removed if necessary.

Obair Bhaile | Homework
Faigheann daltaí Obair Bhaile gach oíche. Caithfidh sé a bheith scríofa sa dialann scoile. Tugann an Obair Bhaile deis do dhaltaí dul siar ar obair na scoile chun tuiscint agus cleachtadh a fháil. Ligeann se do mhúinteoirí dul chun cinn a thomhas. Ba cheart, ar a laghad, go mbeadh fíor-iarracht le feiscint san obair bhaile.
Molaimid do dhaltaí a chinntiú roimh dhul abhaile go dtuigeann siad cad atá i gceist leis an obair bhaile é féin. Cuid den obair bhaile ná na leabhair agus an mála scoile a ullmhú don lá scoile. Ní maith an nós é do dhaltaí teacht ar scoil agus leabhair in easnamh. Chomh maith ba cheart do dhaltaí a m(h)ála a ghlanadh amach go rialta.
Students receive homework every night. It should be written into the journal. The Homework allows for further understanding and re-enforcement to occur. It also allows the teacher to gauge the progress of the student. It is expected that every student would make a genuine effort to complete the homework. To allay distress for any student it is good practice to write a short (one line) note to explain if homework is incomplete.
It is also good practice for students to ensure that they understand the homework requirement before going home. Part of the homework is to prepare the school bag for the morning classes. It is not good practice for students to be in class without the correct books.
Bia Folláin | Healthy Eating
Ba cheart go mbeadh lón folláin ag daltaí agus iad ar scoil. Níl na nithe seo a leanas ceadaithe:
- deochanna coipeacha
- guma cogante
- criospaí
- deochanna ar nós ‘Red Bull’.
Molaimid do dhaltaí ar fad páirt a ghlacadh i gníomhaíochtaí agus súil a choiméad ar a sláinte féin idir corp ‘is intinn.
Students should bring a healthy lunch to school. The following are not allowed:
- Fizzy drinks
- chewing gum
- crisps
- drinks with high caffeine content such as Red Bull.
We would advise all students take part in some exercise and, in particular, to mind their health both physical and mental.
