As part of National Science Week fourth and fifth year students were invited to the Biopharmaceutical Training Centre in Carrigaline. Students were given a persentation by a research scientist who informed them what motivated her to choose this career and what skills she uses in her work. They were then given a tour of the facility and learned how some of the sklls they have learned and practiced in the classroom are used in the production of medicines. The students displayed a keen interest in proceedings and there is no doubt but that they have been inspired to consider these careers in the future. Our thanks to their teacher, M\u00e1istir \u00d3 Finn, for organising the trip.<\/p>\n
