Col\u00e1iste Daibh\u00e9id have started a unique programme this year.\u00a0 Meitheal Mara are working with us in school on a weekly basis.\u00a0 Our Deputy Principal, P\u00f3l \u00d3 S\u00edodhch\u00e1in has spent some time over the summer devloping the programme with Clare Hayden, Youth Officer with Meitheal Mara.\u00a0 It is a ten week programme to give the students a taste of Meitheal Mara\u2019s work and Irish maritime history.\u00a0 They learn about curachs and the various styles of those boats that we have in Ireland.\u00a0 They also get a chance to make models of the old Donegal Curach.\u00a0 Week six is spent in Meitheal Mara\u2019s workshop in Crosses Green in the city.\u00a0 They meet the workshop director, interview him as part of their project for assessment at the end of the module and observe and partake in the building of a curach.\u00a0 Weeks nine and ten are spent rowing curachs on the River Lee in the heart of Cork City.\u00a0 Keep an eye out for
