Fealsúnacht agus Éiteas
Bunaíodh Coláiste Daibhéid sa bhliain 1993 chun oideachas ag an dara leibhéal a chur ar fáil trí mheán na Gaeilge. Feidhmíonn Coláiste Daibhéid faoi bhainistíocht Choiste Gairmoideachais Chathair Chorcaí agus Bhord Bainistíochta Choláiste Daibhéid.
Tá éiteas leanbhlárnach ag an scoil. Táthar tar éis atmasféar uathúil, taitneamhach a chruthú agus a chothú sa Choláiste.
Is í aidhm an Choláiste ná na daltaí faoi chúram na scoile a fhorbairt ina iomláine, nósanna láidre oibre a chothú iontu agus cabhrú leo iad féin a fhorbairt mar dhaoine freagarthach, cumasach agus comhbhách. Déanann an scoil forás na ndaltaí a mhisniú agus a éascú maidir le gach gné den oideachas, idir oideachas acadúil, praicticiúil, sóisialta, fisiciúil, mórálta agus pearsanta. Díríonn an scoil ar na haidhmeanna oideachasúla seo a bhaint amach trí mheán churaclam na Roinne Oideachais agus Eolaíochta, trí imeachtaí eis-churaclam agus tríd an atmasféar a bhíonn i réim sa scoil. Dearbhaíonn an scoil go bhfuil an Ghaeilge mar cheann de na tréithe is lárnaí dár bhféinaitheantas mar náisiún. Is teanga bheo í an Ghaeilge, ar bhonn pearsanta agus mar mheán foghlama, do na daltaí a fhreastalaíonn ar Choláiste Daibhéid. Is gné riachtanach é seo de shaol na scoile. Cothaítear agus fásann an líofacht agus an muinín atá acu ó thaobh labhairt agus scríobh na Gaeilge de agus braitheann siad go láidir gur leo í. Go fírinneach bíonn an Ghaeilge mar theanga dhúchais acu.
The ethos of the school is student centred. It has developed and maintained its own unique and pleasant atmosphere. It seeks to provide for the holistic development of its students, to nurture a strong work ethic and to help students grow to become caring, responsible and capable individuals. The school encourages and facilitates the development of the student in all aspects of education, academic, practical, social, physical, moral and personal. It seeks to achieve these educational aims through the Department of Education and Science curricula, through its extra-curricular activities and through the atmosphere which prevails in the school. The school affirms the Irish language as one of the principal elements of our identity as a nation. Students experience Irish as the normal everyday means of communication of the school. The use of Irish, formally and informally in all aspects of school life, is an essential feature of the ethos of the school. Students maintain and develop a very high level of fluency and comfort with Irish, both written and spoken, and a strong sense of ownership of the language. The Irish language truly becomes part of what they are as Irish people.
