Bhí ócáid iontach againn i gColáiste Daibhéid Dé hAoine 16ú Nollaig 2016. Nua-bhuaite ag Cork City FC, tháinig an Corn FAI ar cuairt chugainn sa scoil. Ba mhór an onóir dúinn fáilte a chur roimh iar-mhúinteoir sa scoil, Mícheál Mac Suibhne agus a chomhghleacaí sna cúlaithe, John Kavanagh, a bhuaigh an Corn le City. Bhí an léachtlann lán go béal agus sinn ag éisteacht le cúrsaí traenála, imeartha, buaite agus saol na beirte a tháinig chugainn. Ghlacadair le ceisteanna ónár ndaltaí agus bhí maidin bhreá thairbeach againn ina dteannta. Táimid thar a bheith buíoch don chlub, Cork City FC, as ucht an Corn a scaoileadh amach chugainn maraon le Mícheal agus John as ucht a gcuid ama. Táimid ag tnúth go mór le fáilte a chur roimh an gCorn FAI nó fiú Corn na Sraithe Airtricity(!) amach anseo. Ár mbuíochas don bPríomhoide Tánaisteach, Máistir Ó Síodhcháin, as ucht an eagrúchaín. What a great morning on Friday December 16th! Recently won by Cork City FC, we welcomed the FAI Cup to the school. We were honoured to welcome back our former teacher, Michael McSweeney, and his fellow defender, John Kavanagh, who won the Cup with City. The lecture theatre was full to the brim as we listened to our guests regale us with tales of training, playing and winning as well as general skills for life. Michael and John were more than happy to answer questions from our students and we had a highly entertaining and beneficial morning with them. We are very grateful to the club, Cork City FC, for allowing the Cup to come to us as well as Michael and John for their time. We very much look forward to welcoming back the FAI Cup or even the Airtricity League Trophy(!) in the near future. Our thanks to Deputy Principal, Máistir Ó Síodhcháin, for organising the event.
